Review:
Purchased this for my new wet room as I thought it looked the best for my needs and the fact that you can adjust the height of the seat. When it came it was packed in one large box, and the chair was inside this box, in pieces. I know that sounds bad but the fact is it was like this only to transport, once out of the box you soon realise that you have to put it together, which is easy to do (comes with instructions-no tools needed) and took us about 15 minutes. In the description it says that the seat is padded \"for extra comfort\". Well I beg to differ to that. It is padded, after a fashion, but it still is firm to hard to sit on and I doubt very much that it adds that much \"extra comfort\" The arms fold up to make side transfers easier but there is no locking mechanism to keep them in place once the arms are in the down position. The footrests are height adjustable (easy to adjust) but the great thing about this chair is that the seat is height adjustable. This makes transfers from bed to chair and back to bed so much easier because you can adjust the seat height to the height of your bed. It comes with the seat insert and a large bowl (with lid) if you need to use it as a commode. It has in a nice white enamelled type finish, the large wheels are detachable, there are brakes on the front castors as well as on the large wheels. It can be pushed by an attendant or self propelled and apart from the very firm seat the only other thing that I have against the chair is that you have to sit bolt upright, there is no give in the back rest, as it is made of hard plastic of some kind. For someone like myself, who is a high paraplegic and has no stomach or back muscles to help with balance, I found myself having to hold onto one of the arms of the chair at all times to stop myself from falling forwards. This made showering very awkward having only one spare arm to wash me with. This could be easily overcome by the manufacturers making the back slightly slanted so that people with balance problems could rest on the back and not feel that they are going to fall forward all the time

So overall, not a bad chair. It could be made better by addressing the problems I have mentioned and it would be absolutey perfect if the chair could fold, making it so much easier to store when not in use.
